STS-116 Payload / 12A-1 / P5 Truss

Space Shuttle Discovery STS-116 was launched on Dec 9, 2006 to the International Space Station carrying the port side truss (P5) on an assembly mission. The P5 segment will allow connection between P4 and P6 segments. Other payload bay elements include the Spacehab single module and the Integrated Cargo Carrier. The ICC will carry the Service Module Debris Panels (SMDP) #2, #3 and #4, and the Space Test Program (STP-H2). The ICC will remain on the payload bay for return to Earth as well as the Spacehab module.

The SMDP's will be transferred to the space station and temporarily stowed as a bundle on PMA-3. SMDP #2 consists of panels 14, 15, 19, 11, 13, 18. SMDP #3 consists of panels 21, 22, 23, 17, 10, 16. SMDP #4 consists of panels 9, 12, 20, 4, 5. STS-111 delivered the SMDP #1.

Information from different sources were available to make this model as accurate as possible considering the scale. Robotics and EVA information from NASA website was obtained. This module is available via Paypal in both 1:144 and 1:100 versions.

This kit contains the Service Module Debris Panels to be used on the Zvezda module.

Enjoy!
