STS-112 Payload / 9A

Space Shuttle Atlantis was launched on Oct 7th, 2002 on mission STS-112 / 9A to the International Space Station, carrying the S1 truss. The 45 foot long truss will be attached to the S0 truss which was delivered on STS-110. The S1 truss will enable the station to begin the starboard expansion of its rail system in preparation for the addition of new power and modules in the years to come.

This truss contains an S-band communications system antenna ( SASA); CETA 1 cart, which will serve as a mobile work platform for astronauts during EVA's and the first Thermal Radiatior Rotary Joint (TRRJ).

The next mission will carry a mirror image of this truss, the P1.

The design and construction of this paper model was based on this mission's Shuttlekit and Robotics documentation from NASA website.

The models are available as a combo kit along with the STS-113 mission. Cost is $5.50 US Dollars.

Enjoy this model!
