STS-102 Payload ( Assembly Stage 5A.1 )

Space Shuttle Discovery was launched to the ISS on March 8, 2001 on a support mission carrying for the first time the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module "Leonardo". Other payloads involved the Integrated Cargo Carrier, which carried the first External Stowage Platform, the Lab Cradle Assembly and the Rigid Umbilical.

Discovery docked to the ISS via PMA-2 on Destiny. The first EVA consisted on removing the Early Communication Antenna on Unity's Port side (left) to make room for PMA-3. PMA-3 then is removed from the nadir (bottom) port of Unity to its Port side. Then "Leonardo" was placed on the nadir (bottom) port of Unity. The Lab Cradle and the Rigid Umbilical are then installed on Destiny's module.

On a second EVA the External Stowage Platform-1 is finally installed on the port side of Destiny. At the end of the spacewalk, the Leonardo logistics module was placed back on the payload bay for return to Earth. One of the highlights of this mission was the first Crew exchange between Expedition 1 and the new Expedition 2 who was brought aboard Discovery.

Information from different sources were available to make this model as accurate as possible considering the scale. Robotics and EVA information from NASA website was obtained. This module is available via Paypal. Enjoy!!
