STS-104 Payload "Quest Airlock"

Space Shuttle Atlantis was launched on July 12, 2001 on a mission to the International Space Station carrying the "Quest Airlock" for assembly phase 7A. "Quest" was connected to the Starboard side of "Unity"-Node 1 module using the Shuttle's robotic arm in tandem with the Station's new robotic arm installed on mission STS-100. In addition to the Airlock module, Atlantis ferried 2 Oxygen and 2 Nitrogen tanks to the station. These tanks were installed around the perimeter of the Airlock. These tanks will replenish the atmosphere in the Airlock after spacewalks. Atlantis 3rd EVA was done from the Airlock.

This papermodel of "Quest" has two versions, one for the payload bay and the second for Station assembly. Also included for the first time is an 1:100 scale of "Quest" in Space Station configuration only. Other technical information was obtained from Robotics and EVA documentation for this mission as well.

As more modules are released, more photos of the Station assembly will be placed to better understand how these modules are put together.
