ORBITAL ATK "Cygnus OA-4"

CRS (Commercial Resupply Services)

Fourth "Cygnus" - ISS Commercial Resupply Services Mission

"Deke Slayton II"

This was the Fourth of eight commercial cargo resupply missions to the ISS under the NASA Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) contract. For this mission, Orbital ATK had re-named the Cygnus spacecraft SS Deke Slayton II, as a Tribute to the late US Air Force Pilot and NASA Astronaut.

This was the first mission of a Cygnus spacecraft aboard an Atlas V 401 rocket (AV-061) from ULA. The Atlas V OA-4 was successfully launched on its 4th attempt due to bad weather at 4:44 pm on Dec 6, 2015 from Cape Canaveral launch pad 41.

Cygnus OA-4 is also the first mission of the enhanced Cygnus spacecraft that features an extended cargo carrier manufactured in Italy, new solar arrays "Ultraflex" from Orbital ATK that are lighter and more efficient than their predecessors, and an improved Service Module with reduced dry weight.

The Atlas V papermodel is available in 1:96 scale and the Cygnus OA-4 comes in 1:100 scale.
