1 This was a classified Department of Defense payload. Sources indicate that is similar to the payload flown on STS-39 (CIRRIS-1A). Only information known is that other payloads consisted of the DFI pallet and the first GAS container. Model will be built based on this information.
2 There is no available data regarding the "Magnum" satellite in the
shuttle payload's bay. All is known is that it used the IUS adapter and this
was located further aft in the payload. The papermodel will not be built until
a photo of the satellite is unveiled in the future.
3 DSCS-3:This payload was un-classified on Oct. 2000, and a photo of the payload
bay carrying the satellites was made public in "Spaceflightnow.com"
website for the first time. Additional data was obtained from other sources
indicating that these 2 satellites were stacked together and launched from the
payload bay using the IUS adapter. Two other photos appeared on Dennis Jenkins'
Space Shuttle book showing both satellites in the payload bay.
