STS-125 Payload / Hubble Servicing Mission 4

Space Shuttle Atlantis STS-125 was successfully launched on May 11th, 2009 to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) on its way to complete its last servicing mission. It carried the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC III), Fine Guidance System (FGS), and the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) to help improve Hubble’s systems and extend its life to at least 2014. Atlantis landed safely at Edwards Air Force Base on May 24, 2009 two days after the scheduled landing due to unacceptable weather at KSC.

After a long hiatus, AXM site resumes with the release of this complex payload model. For this model, the payload detail was made possible thanks to NASA's photo Gallery, and NASA's Flightdata files.

This page will be updated with photos showing Hubble on the Flight System Support (FSS) and displaying EVA's. This model is available for FREE as a token for your patience.

Enjoy!

A Special Thanks!

The STS-125 payload model was made possible with the collaboration of my new beta tester Aaron Obrien (spaceboy7441). Aaron is a young man who has shown a lot of interest in my models and has demonstrated his talent by building them.

This is a very complex model to begin with, due to its innumerate smaller parts that makes the payload elements, and still Aaron gets all the credit because he was able to assemble this difficult model just by following some drawings that I provided.

Thank you Aaron!
